| Using REW for individual driver measurements? So, I've got a 4-way active system using a PC-based DSP crossover: http://www.thuneau.com/allocator.htm I already use REW for eq of a sub in a separate HT system, and have now been attempting to use it for individual driver measurements that can be imported into the above-mentioned program. REW has the option to export a measurement as a text file, which I then open and remove all the header information from, so that I'm left with just two columns of data, frequency and SPL. I then rename this to .frd (standard file format for frequency response data), but for some reason the crossover program won't open these files. Anyone know of a good way to get .frd files out of REW? Or are there any other free/cheap measurement programs you could recommend? Thanks, Desmond | |||

| Re: Using REW for individual driver measurements? That's a good idea, I'll try it tonight. Has anyone else used REW for this kind of thing? I'd be interested to hear any tips or tricks people might have for getting good, accurate measurements. | |||

| Re: Using REW for individual driver measurements? You can export the impulse response and then process the data using Praxis...not sure if Praxis can help you out with the file format, but it might be worth looking into... -Mike Bentz ~It's all about compromise~ "It's territorial with the soundboard. So you're mixing and some dude comes by spewing opinions and trying to turn knobs. It's akin to going up to an artist and painting over his unfinished masterpiece. You just want to shove your paint brush up his nose and throw the soundboard out the window!" | |||

| Re: Using REW for individual driver measurements? You could also extract the phase information using the Frequency Response Combiner provided by the FRD Consortium. That will build your minimum phase information. Google will find it. | |||
