REW with Laptop

I've got a Dell e1501 with only a headphones, Mic jack and SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio sound card. Will REW work with it?

You require a line-in as opposed to a mic-in for REW. Most people with laptops purchase an external USB soundcard.

I have a similar dell, and when you insert a jack into the "mic in" line, it asks if you want it to act as "mic in" or "line in".

either way, REW works fine on my system with the same soundcard.
