Measuring equipment

Hi all. I'm currently building subs for my HT (4 when done) and i'm interested in what equipment i'll need to measure both the subs actual performance and my room characteristics. Computer is available but current soundcard is nothing special ( Dell xps400 running xp media center edition) A short list of devices needed would really help!

Re: Measuring equipment

Long 1/8th" mini cable

Microphone (Spl meter)

REW Help Files - Really well explained and very easy to get the hang of. Good luck!

If the soundcard has a line-in (not mic-in) and a line-out it will be fine. REW creates a soundcard calibration file to compensate.
A good SPL meter is the Galaxy CM-140. We have a calibration file on our download page.

Re: Measuring equipment

For laptop this combo works great and no wall warts needed or addition analog preamp needed.
