How integrate the mains and the sub?

Hello, here a newbe question. The question is how the mains are configured, SMALL or LARGE?
I think that you put SMALL to the mains with the crossover the same for the sub in order to achieve an integration low dependent of the sub volume?
If the mains are very low frequency capable, it should be better to put mains LARGE in order to reinforce the stereo imaging, the stereo scene?
Also, if the mains are LARGE, a full (mains + sub) smooth frequency response have associated a non smooth response for the sub curve, mainly in the frequencies below sub crossover where the mains have an appreciable presence?

Which is the best option for a combined music-stereo and home-cinema system?

Well, with capable mains you might go as low as 60Hz, but they will still always be configured as small. You'll obtain much better integration this way. If the mains and sub are both producing the same frequencies, there is a greater chance of cancellation. There's not much imaging happening below 60Hz. Sound below that frequency is not localizable.
