| REW users in Sacramento, CA I'm having a difficult time setting up REW. I live in Sacramento. Do any of you who have experience with REW live in Sac? If so, can I get some help? JohnM has been extremely patient trying to help, but I think there is onlly so much he can do from the other side of the world. BTW, I have the SoundBlaster Audigy 2 Platinum soundcard. Feel free to PM me if you wish. | |||

| Re: REW users in Sacramento, CA Hey jagman, I'm definitely no expert, but I do have REW up and running, and happen to live in Sacramento as well. I've also got lots of experience with pro audio/computer recording stuff, so I should be able to help you out. Can't figure out how to send a pm on here, but you can email me at djsixbillion@gmail.com Desmond | |||

| Re: REW users in Sacramento, CA Hey there... I also live in sac (well citrus heights) but I would love to get together with both of you and talk accoustics etc. Maybe between the three of us we can get REW working like a swiss watch. let me know... I have just completed a practice room and am just about to start the treatment phase. jim Quote:

| Re: REW users in Sacramento, CA I finally got sick of the SoundBlaster Audigy 2 Platinum soundcard so I bought an M-Audio Transit off Amazon. It took no time to get it set up and REW up and running properly. Here's my new thread... http://www.hometheatershack.com/foru...w-success.html As for getting together and talking acoustics... sounds like fun! | |||

| Re: REW users in Sacramento, CA Hey Krister! Yup, its me. Hows things been? Did you try to pm on AVS? Im looking into this system eq stuff to tweek my bottom end. I just completed my bi-amp project to my mains. OT...if you are looking for cables (this applies to all of us here btw!!!) Fry's in Sacto. has Monster 300 MkII and 400 MkII (1m and 2m rcas) for under $10/pr!!! I was looking for an external usb sound card for my laptop and happened onto the cables. I p/u 6 prs and may go back later for more. Normally I shun Monster cables because of the price but this was a no brainer!Hows you ht coming along? Did you ever get rid of the Spyder2 Express? How far along are you doing the eq analysis to your system? Regards, Ricky | |||

| Re: REW users in Sacramento, CA Hey Ricky, Nope. I tried to send you a PM here at the Shack. I highly recommend using this forum to learn how to use REW to optimize your sub. It's not easy to learn, but it makes a world of difference. You can use REW to optimize your sub location. You can also use it in conjunction with one of the Behringer parametric EQs to dial in your response. Lastly, you can measure the impact of passive acoustic treatments in your room. All you need is a PC/laptop in the room with a duplex soundcard. Here's my thread... http://www.hometheatershack.com/foru...w-success.html Go for it! Krister | |||

| Re: REW users in Sacramento, CA Hi Krister, Im probably going to p/u the M-Card that you got (interesting read in your thread btw) for my lappy. I'll be making adjustments to the bottom end w/NHT X2 external electronic crossover. It has separate gain and lfe attentuators, phase control, boundry adjustments as well. I dont use a dedicated sw...my Classic 4s are full range w/10" woofers. Im anxious to see what the initial response graph looks like as I really like what im hearing so far from my system. Regards, Ricky | |||
