Question Noob to calibration, have question.

Ok, can REW be used with out your speakers/system being directly connected.

The way I am interperting the REW help files is that your ht/music system has to be directly connected to the sound card that your meter and REW is running on?

Re: Noob to calibration, have question.

Your microphone has to be connected to your soundcard. And the SPL meter is the microphone.

REW can be run on any PC without being connected to anything really if you want to simply play around with it.

Below is the standard setup for measuring your system response.

Re: Noob to calibration, have question.

That's a nice diagram. I have a question on the interconnect cabling between the PC Soundcard and the Processor. The diagram shows the right channel connected to the Processor Left and Right channels. I have the Radio Shack 3.5mm to RCA connector on the PC soundcard. Then I use an RCA cable to run over to the Processor. Do I need to purchase an RCA mono to stereo adapter to plug this into the Processor Right and Left AUX In? What do you recommend?

Depends on whether you want both mains to be operating when you do a measurment of the sub + mains..
