| Replacing Fan#1 on HLS4266 DLP Set working fine and then started getting blue box warning on Fan#1 failure. Bought replacement fan and then started pulling the guts to get to the fan. Seemed toooooo easy and then i hit a roadblock. How do you get the plastic shroud open which holds the fan in order to replace the fan? I see no visible screws at all now and am considering just cutting the plastic, replacing the fan, and then glueing it back together. Or, is there a right way to do this? Here is a picture of what I see:  Can anyone help me with this? | ||||

| Re: Replacing Fan#1 on HLS4266 DLP You do not have to cut any plastic to remove the fan. If you cannot figure out how to remove it without doing so I suggest you get a professional to complete the repair. IIRC, you have to remove the light engine on these sets to change the fan, but other than that, it is pretty obvious. Note that we have now begun moving vendors to the new pull down option at the top of the forum pages. You will find it between "Shack Shopping" and "Glossary".
