Hello everyone.

First i want to apologize for my Bad english, i will try to be easy to read.

So I am french and i realy need your advices about US drivers for making my own Subwoofer.

Indeed in Europe we cant buy quality subwoofer for less than 2000€ (2700€)

They are here American brand like JL audio, Earthquake but very very expensive .....

I plan to make a sealed subwoofer of 70/80 internal liter (2.5cu ft)

Amplified by an MAC MAH VZX 3.2 (sono amp similar to beringer INUKE NU6000)

I have an Automatic Subwoofer Equalizer and I can add 8Db at 20/25/30 Hz.

There is the selection of driver i make : ( I want the best quality sound )

- TC sound LMS R 15 ( Hard to have in europe - High shipping cost to europe )
- TC sound Axis 15 ( Hard to have in europe - High shipping cost to europe )
- Fi Q 15 ( Available in UK but 2-3 week to wait )
- Ascendant audio HAVOC 15 ( Available in UK but 2-3 week to wait )
- Gladen SQL extrem 15 ( ( Available in Germany )

I know a lot of guys know TC sound sub on this Forum but i wanted to know more informations about the others !

They are similar in term of performance :

All in 2.5 Cu.ft with a 0.707 Qtc ( approximately )
Same response for all of it ( +/- 2Db )

TC sound and Gladen SQL reach Xmax faster than FI Q and AA havoc.

So tell me what your are thinking !

Thanks, Sincerely Jo.

Good Evening Diamond and welcome to the Shack, we are glad you stopped by.

I am not so sure about the subwoofer you may need but there is a sponser here, GR Research that provides one of the best woofers and amps I have ever messed with in making my own. I am not even sure he sends goods overseas but it may be worth your while to ask.
Here is a link. Click on the Direct Servo Sub area.

Yes i have checked on their website.

They need to order to Dayton USA so .... it will take a long time.

Its better for me to order directly to parts express ...

The dayton dont match my utilitie ( 70L / Qtc 0.707 ) and have a low Xmax compared to other i wrote on top.

Yes its true.

I saw a test of a LMS R12 against a Fi Q and the LMS destroy it in every ways....

So i order an LMS15 at partsexpress.

I want it sealed.

With bassboxpro i put the Qtc at 0,707 i have an internal volume of 71 Liters. (2.5 Cu ft)

Its correct ?

If yes i will make a box of 80 Liter, to include the driver, bracing, damping.

Thanks !!

Using bassboxpro with the LMS-R15.

It give me for a Qtc of 0.707

Vb = 71L ( 2.52 Cu.ft )

If i use this formula :

Vopt : Vas / ((Qtc/Qts)²-1)

It give me : 84L (2.96 Cu.ft)

Using now Winisd pro :

Vb = 85L

I think bassboxpro is not very accuracy or i have problems with the settings....
