My sealed RL-P18

At last the box is almost ready. I only need to do the finishing touches (which I don't
have the patience to do... )
My first plan was to go vented (about 350-400 liters) but after I saw the big tube in my
room, I changed my mind and went on a small sealed box (about 110 liters). four times
smaller, but without the really deep stuff ( if I had a house with a basement I would
have went the LLT way, but I don't ).
Since this was my first go with a wood router I made a few mistakes, tried two different
routers and also did the outer circles with a jigsaw. my first go for a 43.2cm driver cutout
was a disaster and the cutout was too big . the second one was ok and actually smaller
then the "official" 43.2cm, however it was still bigger the the needed cutout. maybe it
just isn't 43.2cm...
My rl-p came with a loose rubber frame, which made the mounting very hard. I tried
without the frame, but then there were too many air leaks, and after a small effort I
managed to mount the driver with the frame.
Included are measurment before & after EQ in my room (4.5x3x2.7 meters) using REW
and the behringer. The amplifier I'm using now is the buttkicker amp, which in time I will
hopefully upgrade
After a small listening session the new sub is definitely more potent than my previous
sub ( a ported Shiva ). however since I have neighbors, I can't pump the volume anyway

Interesting . . . . . a sealed sub using sonotube for the enclosure and the driver firing vertically.
Performace after EQ looks excellent!
How tall is the box?
How much money invested in the enclosure?

Actually the driver is facing the floor, the picture was taken before the legs were installed.
The box without the legs is about 60cm tall.
I live in Israel so prices here are very different to the US ( usually more expensive ), but overall
the parts are about 150$.

$150.00 US ! Excellent. Price per performance is very high using REW and Behringer, powered by the Buttkicker. You're kind of a clever guy.

Re: My sealed RL-P18

Here is an updated pic with the legs and the exterior bamboo finish (which is a simple carpet).
I still need to cut the top portion and cover it.

What is the height of the legs on the sub?

Re: My sealed RL-P18

There has to be adequate sonic clearance between the bottom of the sub and the floor and carpet. I don't know how much. Those legs don't look like they provide enough clearance.

Re: My sealed RL-P18

The legs are 8.5cm long. the carpets hairs are long so it makes the legs look short.
