| Premium vs Supreme Specs for Infinite Baffle ((Cross posted over @ IB cult...))
Let me start by saying that this post is based on the assumption that total displacement is the "end-all" spec to determining IB performance. Please correct me if you feel differently.. With that said:
It looks like the Soundsplinter Supreme line clearly has the advantage as far as displacement goes (6.7452 liters) compared to "only" 3.9655 for the Premium series. But the differences between Qts is considerable; .953 for the Supreme compared to .447 4ohm & .33 for the 2ohm version.
With a target Qts of around .5, is this Supreme series really a worthy consideration of a "world class" IB implementation (with such high Qts.) I am in the beginning stages of planning an IB, with my only "concern" being the lack of "kick in the pants" tight bass. I have a 2100 cubic foot room, and am considering 4 drivers. I want enormous headroom, a lot of overkill and then some. I'd really like to have 4 18's (probably starting with 2) - Just trying to learn all I can about evaluating drivers while the room preperation is underway.... Thanks for everyone's input! Jeff |
