How much would you pay for a used SS RL-P 15? I came acroos one for sale with an enclosure made for a car. I would not need the enclosure and wanted to know how much should I offer for the driver. I was told it was in good condition and was only a few months old. I wasnt sure how these drivers were as far as retaining their value.

That decision is up to you my friend! As I am already selling these drivers on the super cheap, I would venture to suggest that if the product is in good working order that it will resell for close to its original value. Ultimately, it will come down to what you are willing to pay for it and not what someone else may be willing to pay.

Re: how much to pay for a used SS RL-P 15?

Thanks for the reply...I completely understand...I guess I should have asked the question, how much do these subwoofers go for used (if you can find one), or how much do they depreciate in value (if still in good condition)? Before I buy something I like to make sure I am getting a fair price. There are no "blue books" I can reference to get a better understanding. Certainely someone has bought one used, or sold one, and I was looking for a ballpark price.

I also understand your position, that is having a vested interest in the company, you would like to generate more business. I have a strick budget and want to get the most bang for my buck (as ALL do). I have read nothing but great reviews on this sub, and would be fortunate to get one within the budget that have. That is what is holding me back from a purchase on-line. I came across this opportunity to get one used and thought I would ask around so I could have a bettter frame of reference.

Hmm...this is local right? For a RL-P 15 in relatively good condition, I would pay around $230-245, locally.

Used is used I would pay no more then $240 shipped. Buying used speakers is scary stuff. You have to ask your self is getting a cheap speaker worth the chance of getting a dud

Re: how much to pay for a used SS RL-P 15?

Thanks for all the help...the driver is local and I am planning on seeing/hearing it this weekend. I am sure that will determine a good price point. I was looking for a point of reference which you have provided!!!

One question, It is the d-4 version. (if I decide to get it) I was planning on using the behringer 1500 which should be plenty of power, but I have read that the stability at 2 ohm's is in question. I am not sure if I should wire in parrell, series, or look for a plate amp to do the job. the oaudio 500 watt plate amp should be enough power, but is it stable at 2 ohms?

So d-4 means dual 4 ohm voice coils, right? If you run either side of the EP1500 to each of the two voice coils, you will have a 4 ohm load per channel, which will be fine. Or you could run them in series for an 8 ohm load, then bridge your amp. I think you'll be OK one way or another with that driver.

FWIW, I'd offer him $200. A bit low, he'll counter offer, and you'll end up somewhere south of $250.

I'd prefer to avoid running an amp bridged, you wind up halving your damping factor and amp distortion rises as well
(or so I'm told).

The Ep1500 is a good match for a D4. Run each channel to a VC and you will get 800 watts.
Also you might want to read this about the D4...........
