Thanks Steve for all the help!! and thanks to every body the help with the project........positive and negative

Watched Eagles DVD, Farewell 1 Live From Melbourne, all I can say is WOW the Bass is outstanding, blends very well with the mains, its not boomy just nice, clear, loud, in your face sounded bass.

Played the Irene scene again..............only S#@*#
Spoiler
Sorry Sonnie..... that's just the only way to explain it!!!!

Just want to mention couple of things.........

The SLLTs has two EP 2500s bridge to 4 ohm load( one on two subs).

The IBs had one EP 2500 running 4 ohm stereo.

I really don't know the power of the amp @ 4 ohm stereo and 4 ohm bridge

When I did the testing between the IB and the SLLT they had the same power.

My set up is not a ported IB is a BIG ported box.

When I started the project I wasn't sure about the whole thing, but now that it is finish (almost ) if you can build a set up like this.......... DO IT!! I will not think twice to do it again!!!

The specs say stereo @4ohms is 750watts per channel with 0.1%THD.....

and bridge says mono @4ohms is 2400watts single channel with 1.0% THD....

I assume you are using D4's with the coils in series and the two drivers in parallel...

Tripping any breakers?

Yes, at full drive and 4 ohms....

Note that a 15amp circuit can supply ~1800watts.

Yes, so as to establish THD readings in their best light. It doesn't mean that the amp won't dissipate its full power from 20Hz to 20Khz. It says that they guarantee if you measure at 1KHz, the THD will be 0.1% at that full power rating. If you want 0.1% THD from 20Hz to 20Khz you must reduce the power by 10%....

Re: IB makeover..........

I don't think my amps will draw that much power.........the gain on my receiver is set -2 and the gains on the amps are set to 28db and still pretty loud.

When we played "Irene" the volume was -10 at the receiver and the gain on the amp to 31db, felt like the whole the room it was coming down:holycow: the lights dim real bad but no breaker trip!!

I was thinking to put a bigger breaker and run a bigger wire, just need to get my brother to do it( maybe a six pack will help)....................... well after he finish the job

Re: IB makeover..........

The thing is, with no low end EQ boosting and the additional headroom he's gained, he shouldn't approach anywhere near the full power of the Behringers with even the most demanding bass material. That said, taking the amps off the light circuit and giving them their own would be a good idea

Can't wait to see the additional naturally flat extension when the flares are added.

Re: IB makeover..........

Rodny,

LOVE IT! I have a IB with (2) SS 15's right now and plan to add (2) more once I get the time. Your setup would work out rather well in my room. I am seriouly considering doing something like yours.

I hope you don't mind, but I linked to your thread and posted a few of your pics on my HT build thread over on AVS Forum.

Honestly, no FR to share as of yet I'm busy working on my rear sound diffuser/cabinet right now. Once I get that done, I might be able to slip in some tests to see what I'm actually getting.

I'm very happy with the (2) 15" SS's I have now but once I add the 2nd pair, I think things will be outstanding. I'll be sure to post my FRs once I get them done

And thanks for the kind words on the room.

Re: IB makeover..........

If you do plan on porting it, you would be best served by measuring the in room FR of the IB before hand so that you'd know what tuning point would work best.

Beautiful. Do they fit against the vent to provide a smooth transistion? Had you included the flares in the overall tuned length of the vent? Did you use the measure to the middle of the flare?

Yes!!
Quote:

The port is cut to 33", with the front flare (1"1/4) and the inside 3/4" should be pretty close to the real size..... 35"

Quote:

Not yet, but I will when is put it together, if is to short I can add a 3/4 piece of MDF to the back flare and do the 1"1/4 round over and if is a little longer that will be fine with me!!
