vent size for rl-p18

im going to be building a 16 cubic foot (4x2x2ft) enclosure for an rl-p18. tuning is going to be around 16hz. the only thing im stuck on is the vent size. what would be an optimal size. would 2"x12" be good?

8" diameter x 27" length.

i meant to say for a square vent, 8 inches seems huge. would 2 four inch ports or a square vent do the same job.

Well, with a SS RL-P18 D2 with a 16 cu.ft. enclosure, tuned to 16 Hz, the vent would be 12" x 4" and 25.75" long (with one end flared). Any lower than 4" and the port velocity starts to get a bit high. With the size I gave at 1000 watts, the velocity is 28 m/sec at ~14 Hz. That's good.

I guess since the front is a 2 ft square, you wouldn't have room for an 18" driver and a vent, so I suppose the driver would have to be in the rear....
