Doublecheck my calcs...RLP18 Sonosub

2 Questions

1) Would someone more expereienced please check my measurements before I pull the trigger...

RLP 18, 650 liters....28 inch diameter x 70 inches tall
Tuned to 13hz..... 8 inch port x 29 inches

2) How long should I cut the dowels? (ie distance between driver and baseplate).

thanks

Re: Doublecheck my calcs...RLP18 Sonosub

I'd go with at least 5" legs - I went with 8"

The design looks solid, though in real life I don't think it will take a 29" long port to get a 13hz tune. I know the simulations may say that, but my own port is something like 24" long in a 70" tall, 28" diameter tube, and my tuning came out to be ~13hz. As has been said elsewhere though, it's much easier to trim down a port then add to it, so I'd start with 29".

I'll remember not to seal my top end cap before I do some testing. Thanks Steve!
