| Will SS Pricing be affected by TC Sounds Price Increases? Just curious if anyone (especially Mike) knows if the TC price hike will affect the price of SS drivers. I have to assume that the price hike doesn't have much to do with the cost of manufacturing the drivers increasing and has more to do with TC going into the subwoofer system market. The only thing I don't understand about that is why they don't just stop selling raw drivers altogether because I can't see this price increase getting them anything other than bad publicity, whereas if they simply stopped selling them with the reasoning of going into the subwoofer system market would be unfortunate for DIYers, but it would at least be understandable... but I digress. Anyway, I hope it doesn't affect the prices of SS drivers (or at least not too much), because I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a couple or four RL-p18s once we get into our new house and get a dedicated HT room going. | |||

| Hard to say exactly how the changes at TC will play out for SoundSplinter just yet. At present, I still have a fairly extensive inventory of RL-p15's and 18's, so you won't have to worry about any hikes there in the immediate future. However, production and materials costs have been rising consistently over the three years that I have been operating the SoundSplinter brand, and so there is certainly a chance for some marginal price increases in the future. Nevertheless, I will aim to preserve fair prices and value for all SoundSplinter products for as long as I am in the business. I do not plan to bring my drivers to the brick-and-mortar retail market and so there is no reason to expect any large increases on account of supporting additional retail markup. Can't blame TC for taking that route though, as they certainly have the capacity for it, and it could be a huge success for a company that has been dealing for far too long with a whole heap of unrealized potential. I wish them great fortune. | |||
