Amp Suggestions for TC-1000-12

I am building a 3 cu ft enclosure out of 1" MDF tuned to 20 hz. I am looking for suggestions for an amp, either plate or external. Room size is 15 X 20.

Thanks

What driver are you putting in your 3 cu ft enclosure? Its hard to recommend a amp for a phantom driver.

Jerm - he put TC-1000 12 in the topic title, so i assume he is talking about the 12" TC-1000.

Wow, I did not see that last night:holycow: (ruff night ) With the TC-1000 I would probably look at this amp.

http://www.oaudio.com/500W_SUBAMP.html

It has the features that you are going to need with the tuning of 20hz (aka. high pass filter)

Thanks for the advice. What would you suggest for a subsonic filter setting?

I would try 16hz first. If you are bottoming the driver with this setting with your normal listening volumes than change the amp to 20hz and you should be golden.

Jerm - Thanks again for your response. I'll post results when I finish the enclosure.

I almost used one of these in 5.2^3 tuned to 14.5. I was going to run 1 channel of an EP 2500 to power it. Then I could add another one later with the other channel.

Re: Amp Suggestions for TC-1000-12

Ryan-T,

That's an interesting idea. I was looking at the Pro amps but finding one that would do 4 ohm mono, at the 1000 watts the sub would take without breaking the bank was difficult. I need to do more research. Thanks for your input.

The Buttkicker BKA1000 does ~960w @ 4ohms and can be had for around $250. The EP 2500 does ~650w x2
