| Re: SVS PB12-Ultra 12 Hz tune Due the lack of time, I performed only a limited battery of tests for the 12 Hz tuned version. I also feel that the subwoofer is seriously under ported in this configuration and isn’t the best use of the subwoofer. The frequency response extends down to 10 Hz (-6 dB), but there is a prominent hump in 25-50 Hz range. The group delay stays well below the 1 cycle limit all the way down to 15 Hz. As expected, the subwoofer rings the longest around its tuning frequency at ~11 Hz. 12 Hz tuned Ultra is the best choice to those in small rooms and lots of low frequency room gain. Though it should be noticed that the output capabilities at higher frequencies are reduced quite heavily. Therefore this lowest tune is geared towards music use. + Relatively flat frequency response + Extremely good extension + Relatively low group delay - Slow decay rate at very low frequencies - Reduced output above 20 Hz | ||||
