| The second smallest sub in Genelec’s lineup employs a 10” driver in a very sophisticated laminar spiral enclosure. 20 Hz extension is really good for a 10” sub. The shape of the frequency response is pretty much identical to other Genelec models, flat being the key word. This suits better for rooms not having much deep bass room gain. The low pass filter slope is very steep, but the lowest setting is only around 80 Hz, meaning a proper 2-channel use requires an external filter. Both 100 dB and 105 dB sweeps were affected by the built-in limiter which limits the amp output in order to protect the voice coil from over-heating. That causes the sudden drop in output. You won't see this kind of phenomenon with normal program material. THD starts to climb up at lower frequencies, especially during the 95 dB sweep and higher. Composition of the THD is a typical for all the Genelec’s, 3rd harmonic being the dominant one. Group delay stays low down to 30 Hz, below quickly climbing all the way up to 1 cycle value. There’s quite a lot of excessive ringing near the tuning frequency/ high pass at ~22 Hz. Spectral contamination tests shows that the 7060B is most comfortable at low to medium listening levels. + Good extension + Flat frequency response + Steep crossover + Build quality and sturdy enclosure - Low maximum output capability - High deep bass distortion at higher than low/medium output levels - Some ringing around the tuning frequency - Somewhat expensive compared to performance | ||||
