![]() I saw a sub being tested out of doors and immediately thought "Ilkka!". ![]() I'd better apologise to cjwhitehouse too, while I'm at it. Everybody else can stand in the queue. ![]() Last edited by Chrisbee; 02-03-07 at 06:36 AM.

| Re: Which subwoofers would you like to see tested? How about testing a sub or two from ACI, the subs are in a sealed enclosure. http://www.audioc.com/speakers1/titanxl/titanxl.htm http://www.audioc.com/speakers1/maestroxl/maestroxl.htm | |||

| Re: Which subwoofers would you like to see tested? There will most probably be at least one large and low tuned subwoofer (probably TC-2000 15") in my next measurement session in early May. Also other "heavy duty" DIY subs will be there. Just wait. ![]() | |||

| Re: Which subwoofers would you like to see tested? I will soon open a new thread about the upcoming measurement session. Though not every requested sub will be there, many interesting ones will. And of course we still have around month to go so anything can still happen... | |||

| Re: Which subwoofers would you like to see tested? Okay, a little sneak peak to something that has been cooking for some time now. Not completely OT since this sub will be participating in my next measurement session.Pic of the other end. Guess what the other end has?? ![]() ![]() In-room frequency response with mains. Some EQ in the upper bass range, but no L/T or similar. 11-13 Hz dip is room induced. ![]() Just a quick SPL/THD test at 15 Hz (mic at LP). Nowhere near max output as one can see from the THD figure. ![]() Lots of more to come in the near future. ![]() | |||

| Re: Which subwoofers would you like to see tested? AWWWWWWW-SUMMMMM! Your room and that 16Hz mode looks almost perfect with the sub's roll off. (You cheated picking 15Hz for the THD graph) When did you get the Sound Tech software? Did you experiment with placement, or just stick it where you always have the sub? What kind of wood? Looks like maple or alder. Looks excellent! Is it passive? What power plant? How many cubes? What material for the tube? Is it painted or other? Stuffing? Everyone knows that engineer geeks can't build stuff, so who helped you with the baffles? Looking forward to all the info. Bosso Last edited by bossobass; 03-31-07 at 08:56 PM. | |||

| Re: Which subwoofers would you like to see tested? Interesting that the room doesn't create a lot of distortion at 15hz - I thought non close mic in room THD measurements down low were useless because the room itself will resonate and such. Guess not. Looking forward to the full gamut ![]() | |||

I was wondering if you would take a measurement of the sub with the graph expanded to 2Hz, with the DEQ in the chain and without it, to see the effect, if any on the sub's extension, in-room? When you take the sub outdoors, will you measure at different tunes (by EQ), or just as a passive sub? You should be close enough to a natural .71 Q to be able to apply a shelf boost at 2 additional points to note the power compression price for extension's sake, no? Thanks for the sneak peek! Looking forward to the thread and further ahead to the GP session results. 5 cubes is a pretty big sub for a sealed unit. How does it compare in overall size to your SVSub? Bosso
