coax inputs stopped working

Mitsubishi DLP WD-65732. I dropped satellite a couple of years ago and have been using antenna input. The TV has 2 coax inputs. Both stopped working. I can switch back/forth between inputs from the menu, then do a channel search, wait for it to complete, but it doesn't find any. The other connections - hdmi still works fine - I don't use any of the other connections. The antenna is working, it works on my other TV. At first, I could switch to hdmi (connected to Roku), then switch back to Ant1, and that would work, but now nothing works.

I'm not finding much on the internet. It's mostly lamp replacement, chips and fans. I've not opened up the back to take a look yet, but just wanted to see if anyone knows if it's a lost cause. I'd hate to get rid of it. I've not had any other trouble, and only had to replace the lamp 2 times since I bought it new in 2008.

Thx

Re: coax inputs stopped working

Are you using a digital tuner in the TV? If the tuner is the old analog type you won't find anything any more as they stopped broadcasting analog a couple years ago.

Home theater:
Onkyo 805, Yamaha YDP2006EQ, Samson Servo 600 amp
3 EV Sentry 500 monitors across the front, 4 Mission 762i's Surrounds, SVS PB13U sub, Panasonic BDT220, Harmony 1100, Nintendo WiiU
Panasonic PT-AE8000 on a 120" 2,35:1 fixed screen

Living room system:
Sherwood/Newcastle R972, Mission 765's, SVS SBS02's, A/D/S MS3u sub, Yamaha YDG2030EQ
Yamaha KX-393 Tape deck, CDC 805 CD changer, Panasonic BD60, Sony turntable PS-T20
Panasonic TC-P50ST60, HD-PVR & WDTV Live, Harmony 900

Ok, then I would have to suggest the next step is to go into the user menu and make sure that the Tuner is set to ATSC not NTSC analog.

Re: coax inputs stopped working

There is no such setting that I find in the manual. I've not had to configure this setting before. The tv just knows automatically that the signal is digital. When I use the "memorize channels" function, it sweeps thru analog channels first (even tho there are none), then it sweeps thru the digital channels. When it is finished, it says it did not find any. I'm thinking that the component that the coax connectors is part of, may have gone bad. Thx again.

Or, possibly the tuner itself is bad. If you really like the TV, you might consider getting something like a TIVO DVR that works from an antenna. IOW, it would function as your tuner, and give you streaming options and a DVR as well. Monthly subscription fees are very reasonable.

Wayne
