Not sure which forum to post this in so let me know if it’s in the wrong place.
I’m in the process of building a dedicated home theater in the basement and will be using four subs – two in the front and two in the back. At present I’m running the subwoofer cables thru the ceiling (actually the first floor-floor joists) and I’m quite concerned that the cables will pick up EMI/RFI signals from all the lights and 120v wiring that will also be up there. What is a good way to test for this short of buying a used receiver with a sub output? Can I just plug in one of my subs to one of the cables and turn it on to see if it plays any unwanted noises?
