Hopefully this wont happen with Lexicon again because their Processors are and always have been awesome and so was there RT10 DVD player.
There processors and amps have always been very good indeed, but I do think that some of the High End companies have taken too long to adopt the HD era...

Latest Stereophile reviews/compares the SE with the Lexi to the base 83.
One interesting part of the writeup is that there will be other 83 based releases.
Cambridge Audio, Theta, and Ayre.

Re: Lexicon BD-30 Universal Blu-ray Player Review

Lexicon’s internal analog path is superb for movie soundtracks.

Setting the price aside, the high-caliber sonics, video — and its ability to pass non-downsampled 24-bit audio output — entitles the BD-30 a thumbs up.

Re: Lexicon BD-30 Universal Blu-ray Player Review

interesting reading, both the review and the following comments. I guess its stands to show we need to research before making high dollar purchases. this seems to be the reverse of what I see a LOT with high dollar amps being remade by a diff China shop and sold way below the asking price of the original amp, most often with much cheaper bits and bobs within. but , but some time they can be surprisingly good. I rather like oppo products. This seems to be a case of taking advantage of the buyers into high end HIFI, there is a price premium to be sure for certain name badges. can you say SONY? (I just bought a sony tv recently and despite the extra cost I got it anyway) point being many times folks that shop for more that HTIB from wallyworld are willing to pay premium prices, for value , real or imagined.
