Re: Panasonic 50" problems

Hey kev and welcome to the Shack!

Is this with any source or one particular source... such as cable, satellite, DVD? I know we get some motion artifacts on Dish Network on some SD channels. Looks like worms moving around in the faces sometimes and in other places too all along. We notice more in faces than anywhere else because that is the focus point in most cases.

If it's happening on all sources then I'd say it would be a problem with the unit itself and that should be covered under warranty... just get a replacement. Or... you may have a bad cable, but it sounds more likely to be either a source or the unit. If it's the unit though... again... it should be covered and either you take it back to where purchased it and exchange it or have panny fix it under warranty... I'd rather get the exchange in this case. I think panny is pretty easy to work with too... so you should be okay. If it ends up being a source like cable or satellite... tough luck... not much you can do other than to complain to the respective companies. If it's DVD then it's gonna be a problem with your DVD player to resolve.

I'm not familiar with the 1080p... it seems like there is limited source material for it right now though.

Re: Panasonic 50" problems

Thanks it is from any source four different DVD players and two HD set-top boxes and many different cables.
I have had an engineer from the shop come and spend five minutes look at it and say I should have bought pioneer and walk out so I will contact Panasonic and see what happens, Except for this strange effect the panny looks more natural ( except for grass) than any other brand I have looked.

Re: Panasonic 50" problems

You'll have that with some techs.... but truth be known, I'm sure there have been problems with every set on the market, including Pioneer sets. Panasonic should make it good.
