| Problems with Samsung DLP TV Hello All, I have owned a Samsung 46 inch DLP tv for about 14 months now. A few months ago, I began to notice small lines of distortion appearing on both sides of the screen, in what I only know how to describe as the "HD area". In other words, the rectangular boxes that become letterboxed when watching standard feeds (unless i stretch the screen). Over time, the lines got worse and worse. At this point, both HD sides of my screen are distorted at all times. It shows up especially bad on lighter pictures. This happens on HDMI - Component - Standard AV hookups. It shows up on HD Cable, Xbox 360, and even my standard DVD player. So I know its not the feed or the inputs. I have heard alot of the rainbow effect on DLP's, but this doesnt seem to match that description. I have tried browsing the forums to see if anyone has heard of this, but couldnt find anything similar, so I apologize in advance if its been covered before. Wondering if anyone else has seen or heard of this? | |||

| Re: Problems with Samsung DLP TV First, let me say,... Welcome to the Shack! Hmmm,...sounds like a power supply issue. But I do not think DLP or LCD suffer from this. Not much help , I'm sure someone who know much more than I will be along shortly.Mark | |||

| Re: Problems with Samsung DLP TV It could be a collapsing light tunnel which is not uncommon on Samsung DLPs. Post a better description, a model number, and a picture, if possible. | Re: Problems with Samsung DLP TV thanks for the fast replies! sorry i didnt provide more information the first time around. the model of my tv is the samsung s4666w. I will also attach pictures to this post. I paused my DVR on a lighter screen so it would be more obvious via the still shot. im including two pics, one of the entire screen and a closer shot of the right side. as you can see though, both sides are equally bad. hope this helps! | |||

| Re: Problems with Samsung DLP TV Ouch! Well this is certainly not looking good! I suppose I'll give Samsung a call next. Unfortunately if this is a huge repair bill I guess I'll be in the market for an LCD tv next. | |||
