| lcaillo can u help ? HD 1080 red and green shadows I turned on my Mitsubishi HD 1080 (Model Number WS-65907) yesterday and the picture was split into red and green shadows. Read on this forum that this could be solder or convergence IC problem. I live in Orlando area. Can anyone recommend a good service technician (preferably one they've had experience with) or what steps can I take to fix the problem ? >>> lcaillo - you seem to be located in Gainesville - could you help me out please ? Can you email me your contact details ? Am reasonably good with a soldering iron, but am scared of the high voltages inside the TV. Thanks in advance. | |||

| Re: lcaillo can u help ? HD 1080 red and green shadows I do not know any techs in your area, and since you are at least 2 hours from us, travel time would make the repair cost prohibitive. Call around to the local techs and see what they charge for these repairs. This is a very routine problem in most cases, and it is rare to have problems that go beyond the output ICs or their supply fuses in these sets. If a tech is not willing to tell you what they charge for a routine convergence repair and not willing to discuss where they buy their parts as the importance of using original Sanyo chips, then move on to the next shop. I will ask around for a shop in your area and let you know what I find. If you do not feel confident going into the set, don't do it yourself. | Re: lcaillo can u help ? HD 1080 red and green shadows Thanks very much ! Not to be a pain, but : 1) I assume there will some soldering to replace the convergence ICs 2) Can you point me at the location of the unit ? 3) Any obvious fuses to check at the same time ? Thanks again | |||

| Re: lcaillo can u help ? HD 1080 red and green shadows Read the convergence repair thread completely. Check all of the fuses. They are pico fuses and are labelled on the board. There are also a couple of glass fuses but they rarely fail.
