Hello

I was link to hear by ThomasW. I just recently started my HT experience. I just finished a big piece to it, my IB sub. right here at the cult. Right now I am looking to dial it in. I already know I will need a proper EQ. thinking of the feedback destroyer. In any event, I am sure I will have some serious questions down the road, but for now, hello

Re: Hello

Hi there DeMan... welcome to the Shack!

You no doubt learned a wealth of information over at the CULT with ThomasW... I wouuld go to none other myself.

Poke around a little and read up on the Room EQ Wizard. I think that will be where you'll want to start. Get some measurements, response graphs, etc... and make absolutely sure you need a BFD, which you will probably end up needing one and wanting one.

Glad to have ya aboard.

Thanks for the welcome. I downloaded and poked around with the roomEQ last night as a matter of fact. I am going to do it again tonight. I really don't know how accurate my mic is I'm using, but from yesterdays indiaction, I will need some EQing desperately. The mic I used came with my Yamaha AVR. It is used for the AVRs YPAO automatic setup. I'm sure I need a proper mic to test with, but it's all I had last night except for a cheap PC mic lol.

Re: Hello

Yeah... you'll want to get you an RS SPL meter or a good mic and mic amp... something you can find correction values for, unless you want to spend the money to get a mic that doesn't need calibration...

Re: Hello

Last year my mom asked what I wanted for my birthday. I asked her to get me the Radio Shack SPL meter. She had no clue what it did, but she bought it for me!

We are the Shack. Existence as you know it is over.
We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own.
You will be mapped. Resistance is futile.
