| still listening hello all.....i am from north hollywood....and have been playing in audio for about 20 years now. i am working on a massive re-design (i will get hate mail on this) of some Klipsch cornwall-IIs. when i finish the project i will post the results. i love the black magic art of audio, and how science does not always tell us everything.... so tune with your ears.... bye for now, Douglas | |||

| Re: still listening Thank you all for the welcome. i was worried about hate-mail because i am completly rebuilding the cabs. the funny part was that what i decided on, turned out to be one of the improvements in the cornwall III's. i moved all the drivers as close together as possible to aid in the intergration of the driver outputs (similar to the III's). i also moved the driver-cluster up to set the mid-horn at about ear level. with height dictated by the drivers (and thier height requirements), and a small front baffle to reduce unwanted difraction, i attempted to mantain all volume and port volume dimensions. the final dimensions 48"(h)x18"(w)x16"(d).the bass units are JBL 2235's and they match very closely the original drivers, but have greater reach down low (but are expensive). i finished them with black carpet so they would disaper in a dark room, which helps all the more with the soundstage (at least in my head- i hate seeing my speakers).so far...they sound great, next up... tweeters...then mids will be replaced/ upgraded...i hope the pics upload ..thanks again for the welcome. | |||
