Hello from Dallas

Hi. Well I'm close to Dallas but no matter what it's still hot!

I've been into the Home Theater scene for about five years now but I've been a Rock-n-Roll animal most of my life. Equipment that I've owned include my first receiver; a Pioneer SX-450 that I purchased in the mid 70's and now miss dearly, then an SX-251 which, when I get motivated will be included in my Retro-room along with my old Pioneer turntable, CD player and dual cassette deck (not working right now but I think I know why) and my VERY old "Sonic" (by Pioneer) speakers with 12" bass and dual tweeters. I also have a Yamaha HTR5740 which was my introductory receiver in my HT setup, but will probably either go in my bedroom or onto the selling block.

My current HT equipment consists of a Yamaha RX-V3800, Panasonic DVD-F87 changer (weak link), Emotiva LPA-1 amp, 6 B&W speakers and my pride and joy Mitsubishi 57" DLP TV. Future products include a Sony PS3 and a BFD for my LFE challenges.

Hi guys. Thanks for welcoming me. I just got done reading Sonnie's thread about the BSE proposal, and even though at this time I know little about this whole sub EQ dilemma, judging from the responses it seemed like a good idea. Better luck next time.

I know that I have issues at home with my sub and my listening room and I have no doubt that I'll find all I need to know about fixing the problems right here in the Shack's forums.

And I'll try my best to behave too.

BTW... Great avatar Sonnie. My listening habits (and current state of sanity) are deeply rooted in Pink Floyd.
