Hi folks,
Newbie to this forum but not an electronics newbie.

Spend 20 years in the military as an avionic electronics technician. Electronics repair has also been my hobby and part time employment. I've done TV, radio, VCR and computer repairs for over 30 years. TV and VCR repair has gotten very slim over the years, due to the cost of repairs and the low cost of replacement units. I still dabble when I can.
I'm glad to join your forum and will pitch in where I can. I will also be posting for advise from all you pros. Thanks for a great forum.

Hi David, welcome. I was a radar tech in the Navy (67-71) in VA-37 (A-7's) on the Kitty Hawk and the Saratoga. Lots of fun, since they trained me as a radar tech, then put me on the flight deck as a plane captain! Like you, I carried my training with me to several electronic repair shops over the years. Before I became a chiropractor, I had my own VCR repair business where I fixed over 6,000 VCR's here in OKC. I am glad that is over, as I got tired of roaches!!. Have fun, Dennis

I know what you mean. I've been amazed and shocked at some of the items found in VCR's over the years. Everything from loose change to PB&J sandwiches. Kids are amazed to see a box eat things. If it can eat that black plastic thingy, it can eat this sandwich. LOL
I did some time with USAF A-7 Corsair II's myself, in Korat, Thailand. Quite a shift in gears for you, electronics to chriopractics? HeeHee
