| Hello! I'm excited to be here! I hope to learn a ton. Why I came here? Another resource in the arsenal for learning about audio! My current project is my expedition, and actualy putting tunes into that. We just moved into a new home and the W has not moved all of her millions of boxes and bags of clothes out of the man cave so the HT is offline and I needed another audio project along with the millions that need to be done around the house. My short term goal is to build a great HT sub. I need it to be musical also. I'll be auditioning an 18" Fi Q in my truck, and then if I am happy with the SQ it will go into the HT. Probably sealed... or maybe a huge enclosure. I cannot do a true IB set up... well, maybe ![]() After that I will be building my own speakers. My goal is to have music piped into every room and outside. Home automation and a wired house FTMFW. This will take a while though as the place we got needs allot of work, mainly right now I'm doing battle with invasive bushes and vines. One of those took over on of the ponds in the yard and I'm trying to clean that up. The outdoor music will be the first though as once I get the hot tub, I will need to have toons for it! Gear check? I have a 2 year old integra. It's a nice unit and does the trick for the moment. I would love to upgrade but, I have other things I would rather upgrade first. My pride and joy are my energy RC 5.0 rig. I have the 50's for the front and the 10's doing the rear. I loved them the first time I heard them, and the price is great. They are warm, and in my budget since I couldn't get the flattest speakers ever I wanted something with more mid and midbass. I am verry sensative to harsh sounds. I came down to the RC's or the NHT classic 3's and in the end, it wasn't cost but the fact I didn't fatigue even at louder levels on the RC's nearly as fast. The NHT's did image a bit better. I only PLAN on BUYING one more pair of speakers and that's a set of maggies. Other than that probably only DIY exparaments. I would love to go grab a set of b&w's though. I'm just too cheep atm! For video it's a projector made by epson. It's maybe 720, doubt it though, and I love it. That will be the first unit to be replaced though as the 80" screan is getting small to me now, and I don't think it will stretch much farther without loosing it. But right now people who don't know always comment on how much more clear the 1080p on my projector is than their LCD. lol Now you all know a bit about me and my audio life. | ||||
