Newb intro

Hello from Providence, RI

I feel like I've been registered here previously (may be confusing HTS with another forum) but couldn't log on using my common name and password so I've just registered and am starting new. I've been into audio since I first took apart a pair of speakers at age 10. Started getting the video bug about 4 years ago and put together a very modest HT system over the past few years. Most of what I do regarding A/V as a hobby is DIY and/or the cheapest, least expensive way to achieve progress. I'm not beyond revisting an existing set-up over and over again when I get bored and want to try and make improvements with little or no investment aside from time. All A/V in the home has to be really subtle as it is in the main living room and the better half and I agreed way back in the day that until I do dedicated HT room I don't get to take over our daily living space. Also added my first child 16 months ago (Theo) and that is a serious challenge in terms of keeping things safe.

Amp- NHT SA-3 (sub only)
Speakers- Main Polk RTi6, Center Klipsch SC-1, Surround Polk R-15, Sub pair JL Audio 12W0-8 drivers in sealed custom isobaric clamshell box
Video- Toshiba 52HM94 52" 720p DLP
Game- XBOX360, Wii
Many other goodies laying around from previous upgrades like speakers, CD/dvd players, amps etc
