Greetings from Atlanta

I just wanted to post a hello to everyone. I am a new forum member, directed here from AVS.

I look forward to getting caught up on the various topics here.

I started in AV installation when I got out of the Marine Corps in 1997. I have been in the AV industry since then, in various parts of the country and in various different roles.

Welcome. I hope you find the forums useful. Where do you work and what type of installs are you experienced with? Looking for a job? We are nearly always looking for good installers here.

Re: Greetings from Atlanta

I work for an integrator here in North Atlanta, so I guess I am in direct competition with you, lcaillo...

I have worked with a variety of different systems and projects. I even worked on Phast and Panja systems and lived to tell about it! Currently, I work more with AMX and Vantage systems on whole house projects with dedicated theaters. I worked for Audiovisions in California, and for a national company doing networked video systems (primarily in the educational market), then moved back into residential AV in Vegas and finally my wife and I decided to move to Atlanta last year.

As for pics, here are a couple of pics from a recent project:

Thanks! I must admit, I was given this project part way through, but after some stumbles and long days, we ended up with a theater that we can be proud of.

I guess you can consider this the serious side, although, being around and involved in HT for 9 years, I still have MUCH to learn.

Re: Greetings from Atlanta

That's the kind of room I intend to build one day. I will have to add onto the house to do it though but that way I can design the entire room around HT and hopefully come up with the best solution. One day

Very nice! Welcome to HTS. I lived in Gwinnett County for 10 years before moving to Houston 8 years ago.

I went to the University of Georgia too. Go Dawgs!

Re: Greetings from Atlanta

Holy moly, that is a purty room! Someday, when I'm rich and famous..

On a more serious note, there are a lot of people here who will look forward to tapping you for some of your knowledge regarding HT installs/construction.

Welcome!

JCD
