| Greetings from CA/Bay Area Hi All, Just found this forum and got a lot of helpful information to set up my home system! My current set up is Pioneer VSX-92TXH, a pair of Monitor Audio Silver RS8 floor speakers and a MartinLogan Dynamo S/W connecting to the Samsung Series 650 52" LCD TV. I have not have the time to get everything dialed in yet, but that is the fun part to do in the next few weekends, if the wife allows. I am curious if anyone has a similar set up or have suggestions on what I can do to make it sounds better than OOTB, which is pretty much what I have at this time. Thanks! | ||||

| Re: Greetings from CA/Bay Area For setup, this is the best place to start: http://www.hometheatershack.com/foru...ter-101-a.html My advice that I give to everyone: Follow proper speaker positioning (fronts at ear level, center tilted towards ears, rear 2-3 feet above, fronts 22-30 degrees off center, rears 90-110 degrees off center) Use the 1/3 or 1/5 rule, your speakers and your **** should be at 1/3, 1/5, 2/5 etc the room length, not 1/2 or 1/4. $40 RS Sound Level Meter and Room EQ Wizard software make subwoofer positioning a breeze. When you have the money, treat your room! Listen to the Real HT Info Podcast at http://realht.info, or on iTunes. Also, listen right here on The Home Theater Shack. Just use the web applet on the front page. | ||||
