hi have just started my journey towards my first professional HT, i need suggestions on a good 5.1 system which would suit my requirement both for stereo and cinema.I also need HD up conversion for satellite TV signal. My budget is around $2400 excluding the flat panel. I am toying with the following alternatives :

Onkyo TX SR 606
Wharfedale - Front l/r diamond 9.4, centre 9cs, rear 9dfs, subwoofer sw150

Somebody suggested to get the Quad 11L for front l/r and the sub from the Quad L-ite system if available separately.

Please give me your suggestions for the above system with alternatives if available?

I second the suggestion to open a new thread in the speakers and components area ... you'll get more suggestions there.

I don't have any experience with any of the equipment you mentioned ... but I'm sure you'll get some suggestions
