Hello from North Texas

Hi everyone,
I am a noob to the DIY HT world and have caught the fever..... I have been listening to a cheap Kenwood 5.1 system for the last several years and I am in the process of upgrading. I recently completed my first subwoofer project and am looking towards a center channel next.

This is what I currently have for a HT system:

Samsung LN46A650
HTPC w/ 750 gb of storage
yamaha rx-v663
elemental design eq.2
behringer ep 1500
ps3 80 gb
polk rti1000 powered towers
kenwood center and surround speakers
jl audio 12w6 in 7.5 ft3 ported to 19hz

All of the speakers will be replaced including the sub that I just finished. It sounds great but I need MORE!!!!!! I have an emotiva amp in the plans to power whatever I build. Hopefully, I can contribute back to this site and the others that help me along my journey.

This is a non-stop hobby

Have you though about using separate amps to power your speakers and sub??? ... I'm sure your RX-V663 has the preouts already

Re: Hello from North Texas

I am using a Behringer ep 1500 for the sub now and the Emotiva would be to power the rest of the speakers...
