Another new guy!

Hello, gigbyt(john) here.
I've been lurking here for about a month and enjoy all the info thats freely given to anyone who asks.
i've been upgrading my HT for about 3 years now as finances (and my wife,LOL) permit.
my newest project is to build or have built a subwoofer.
used to own a svs dual 16-46cs+/samson 1000 set-up. I sold it to finance a diy sub that will hopefully
far exceed the svs set-up. I'll probably be hanging around the diy sub forum alot.
So HELLO to all !!!

If you have the tools and a little time, building your subwoofer can be a very satisfying experience! I've built all of my subwoofers and several others for friends etc...

this sub adventure should be interesting what with all the new subwoofer enclosure terms
ex:BLT LLT BMF, LOL
I'm not sure which way to go, sealed or ported.
i do have a crown k2 just waiting to give a driver a workout though!

i would love to try IB, and i have a perfect room just off living room
but i'm currently renting and my landlord would probably have a stroke if i put a large hole in the wall,LOL.

Welcome to HTS. I can definitely relate to upgrading over time as finances permit. Would'nt it be great to have an unlimited AV budget? You are right about the help available here, a wide range of knowlegdeable people very willing to help and share ideas.

maybe i'll hit the lottery someday,lol.
oh my, and the research i'd have to do online to find all the components
would keep me busy for a loooooooooong time.
for me a lot of the joy is in the hunt.
