| Hello from Northern California Hey everyone, Just stumbled onto this site this morning from a cross-posting someone did at a woodworking forum I haunt. I've been doing customer cabinetry and woodworking for many years and have often considered building my own speakers. Off and on conducting research for the last year or so, but have a project coming up in the next 6 months that will provide the perfect opportunity. Read through a number of the posts and found some excellent information and thought I'd become a member and contribute if I can as well. Looking forward to our discussions together ![]() Michael | |||

| Re: Hello from Northern California Good to have a fellow Californian here.. I look forward to ay future speaker building projects you may undertake. As a woodworker (I'm making an assumption based on your post), I'd like to see how you tackle some of the issues about building a cabinent. JCD | |||

| Re: Hello from Northern California Thanks Jacen. I've built some sub boxes for cars in the past, but no other audio endeavors. I've been into finewoodworking for the better part of 10 years with a relatively complete shop (2 car garage dedicated to shop). I will certainly discuss my thoughts in advance here as I see a wealth of knowledge and good advice. One thing I didn't mention in my original post, is that while I'm a woodworker, I'm also an avid A/V guy (which is an assumed almost being on this site, but I didn't mention it). I've been a nut about A/V since I was in my teens, so many, many years. Currently setup includes a Pioneer Elite 07 (THX rated), Infocus 61" HD DLP TV, Oppo upconversion dvd, Klipsch 15" powered sub. the mains, centers, and rears are the replacements. Fall has finally hit this last weekend and the leaves are beginning to drop in my yard. Less shop time and more yard time as a result... but necessary. Michael | |||
