Another new guy.

Let's see, the quick run down.

Age...54

Married, two kids both basically grown. Live in Indianapolis. Drive a Subaru WRX. Play Frisbee Golf. Play around with RC planes, but I mostly wreck them.

Work...Depends on who you talk to. I am a freelance television audio person. Some folks call me an engineer, some don't. I get hired alot because I can make it work. For the most part I work network sports programing. In the next year I will work, NFL football, some playoffs, the Super Bowl, the Pro Bowl, some college basketball, the tournament, the Final Four, Indy 500, US Open Golf, and some other golf and racing maybe. I am not a sports fan, don't watch sports on TV, and you would have to work pretty hard to get me to go to almost anything that involves large crowds.

Equipment...Mitsubishi 52" DLP, Yamaha Reciever, JVC speakers, Toshiba DVD recorder, Some kind of VCR, Time Warner HD Cable. Not great, but it serves its purpose.

Some basic audio beliefs...If it sounds good to my ear, it is good enough for me. The only good sound in an automobile is the sound of a nice running engine working hard on a road course. There are to many sound effects used in Sports TV.

I do look forward to visiting here, learning and contributing if I can.

First off, welcome to the Shack!

And, that's quite an interesting "resume" you've got there. I'd love to hear more about what "tricks" are applied to your average sports programming.. e.g., the backround behind...

Hello Chris and welcome to the Shack!

Very interesting hobbies... sounds like fun to me.

Let's see... I'll take a 4 pack of tix to the Super Bowl, a pair to the Indy 500, and a 4 pack to the US Open... and any NASCAR tix you can get a hold of.

The really scarry thing about my "Good enough for me" quote is that sometimes, whether they know it or not, it is good enough for millions of people. :raped:
