Re: Hi There

I am in the process of redoing my HT. This is what I will
have in about a month

TV : Samsung HL-S5087W (pre-ordered)
AVR : Denon 2106 (in the mail)
Sub : Acoustica H-100 (in tthe mail)
Speakers: Paradigm Cinema Series 220 (LCR) + ADP (LS,RS) (99%)
HTPC : ...

PPresently I have Bose (I know!!), Sony 40" RPTV, Yamaha RXV995
AMD based HTPC. My room is about 18'x14', but open to the
kitchen.

Also, The Denon 2106 has a built in equalizer... wonder
if I still need RoomEQ

Re: Hi There

You will still need RoomEQ + BFD. Your Denon's equaliser will be useless for subwoofer EQ. Just not enough flexibility. We can help you work through all that

Don't worry. The first step is admitting you have a problem.

I really like my Denon 1905. One of their lesser models, I know, but I have a small room and the 80 W per channel has been enough. It was a nice improvement from my old Yamaha. I use PLIIx/Music for everything.

BFD - Do it. Best tweak ever.

Re: Hi There

Hello Legolas, welcome to the forum.

It sure seems that you are on the right path with your equipment. I wonder how much of a difference the Paradigm will be compared to the bose?

I think you will notice a difference going from the Yamaha 995 to the Denon. That pacticular Yamaha is pretty bright. I think the Denon will be a tone things down a bit. I really have liked the Yamaha stuff in the past, I had a 992, it was really bright too.

Let us know how things sound once you get them in your system.
