Talking Hi Everyone!

Greetings from Cambridge UK

I am a Web Designer by trade, I have been running my own company (creative Freedom) for around 7 years but am in complete denial about being a geek or a nerd.

I am married to Kerry and have been for about 3 years, we have 2 girls, Erin & Isabelle. I am outnumbered but luckily they share my interest in AV

I have been dabbling with my BFD ever since I got a real subwoofer (SVS PB12 Ultra) about a year or 2 ago. Only really experimented a little with REW as I have spent the last 6 months rebuilding our home and HT. It is nearly all complete so finally I will have a chance to get stuck in... if the family let me of course!

I am pretty active on AVForums.com so you may be spared the full extent of my innane prattling here with a bit of luck

Adam

Re: Hi Everyone!

Welcome, Adam. We have a 12 step program for geeks in denial.

1. Admit that you are powerless with respect to technology.
2. Accept that more power to the subwoofer will solve your problems.
3. Decide to turn your system response over to the BFD.
4. Make an inventory of your room nodes.
5. Admit to the Forum and to yourself the exact nature of your room response anomolies.
6. Be entirely ready to have BFD remove these defects of sonic character.
7. Humbly ask the Forum to check your analysis of your system's shortcomings.
8. Made a list of all drivers you have blown and be willing to subject yourself to Forum ridicule.
9. Made direct repairs to such speakers wherever possible, replacing those beyond repair.
10. Continue to take measurements and when your system is inferior promptly admit it.
11.Seek through tweaking and changing components to improve system response and resolution and maintain contact with the Forum, asking for It assistance in carrying that out.
12. Have a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, and carry this message to videophiles, audiophiles, and geeks, and practice these principles in all your affairs.

...the soulshine, it's better than sunshine. It's better than moonshine. It's sure better than rain.

Re: Hi Everyone!

Greetings Adam. My wife puts up with my tweaking for a while, but her patience is limited. But when the cat's away...

We are the Shack. Existence as you know it is over.
We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own.
You will be mapped. Resistance is futile.

Re: Hi Everyone!

Hi and glad you feel welcome here

If you don't have a BFD for your sub, get one fast!
If you don't have REW, get it now!
