Howdy - From Michigan

I just joined up after being sent over here to look at REW.

I'm "new" to the whole HT/2.1 stuff. Last year I purchased a set of DefTech 7002 fronts, Yamaha RX-V2600 receiver, and a Yamaha C950 DVD player. Originally had a Sony GW III 60" LCD to finish it off but recently upgraded to a Samsung 1080p 61" DLP.

My first introduction to the whole room EQ/setup was how poor my SACD and DVD-A's sounded. I added an Outlaw Audio ICBM.

I recently looked into surpassing my 7002's and found the world of DIY. I've plotted and planned for a while and finally have come up with some idea's.

I'll be doing a line array up front with either an IB sub or 2 large Sonotubes. Danny from GR research suggested room treatments for me and my large room so I started doing some searching which led me here.

I'll be EQ'ing the room and making up some treatments over the holiday since we have the week off and seeing what kind of improvements I can come up with.

Next up will the subs and then in a month or two start working on the arrays.

Great amount of information I've found so far and it takes a lot of the mystery out of this stuff.

BTW, there is a smiley your missing...the wife rolling her eyes

Thanks
