| blekenbleu Greeting - Long-time audio hobbyist (built tube equipment in the 50s from military surplus) with allergies and decreasing tolerance of carpets, drapes, acoustic treatments. Read about REW on AVS and decided it would be too much bother; ordered a Denon 5805, discovered it was marginal for smoothing bass, followed BFD issues to these fora. | |||

| | Re: blekenbleu Hello blekenbleu and welcome to the Shack! The Audyssey MultiEQ doesn't do so well with sub-bass... or at least it didn't for me. BFD all the way... REW is pretty easy after you start messin' with it, so you might give it a second look. Actually the next version should be ready soon and it may be a little easier to work with. | |||

| Re: blekenbleu Yes, it seems my timing is pretty good; another user (Gizmo) is having success with REW and Creative's Extigy (which I also have), and with the BFD 1.4 EPROM becoming available , I may not have to search around for an older used one. I expect to be running many calibration attempts, since the room has little damping and I will need to try many placements for my pair of subs. | |||
