| G'day from Montmorency G'day from Montmorency, a leafy north eastern suburb of Melbourne, Australia. I got onto this forum after reading November 2006 Sound On Sound which had a very positive description of REW and how it can be used. I'm a pro audio guy (live and recording) with an interest in home theatre when I'm not pushing faders somewhere. My initial interest in REW is to get analysis information that will point me to appropriate acoustic treatment (bass traps &c) that will deal with my home based studio's room modes. I'd prefer to get the room modes sorted by acoustic treatment as EQ can only be right in one spot- and probably introduces phase anomalies I don't want. Once I've got the studio sorted to some degree (reports to forum forthcoming), then REW will be carted around the house to the home theatre / hifi areas. Ideally I'd like to treat most rooms in the house as a nice acoustic environment to live in is better for listening to all sound - not only that made by theatre systems! cheers, John Harvey ![]() | |||
