New Member Checking In

Hi,

I live in Texas. I have been upgrading my home system over the last year, however my career has been preventing me from spending much time on it. Recently the company I work for was acquired, now I will have some time to really learn all about the system. My first prefence on my system was music, but I now want to expand it to home theatre. I also want to determine it is set up for it's best performance in it's current configuration.
I currently have:

McIntosh MA2275 Integrated AMP
Denon PMA 2000IVR
B&W 803 D
B&W SW750
Sony DVPNS999ES
DenonTU1500
XM Radio

I'm looking forward to learning a lot on this forum.

Mike

Hi Mike welcome to the Shack. I feel your pain, I get stuck with working a lot too, never seem to have much time to play. Place I work was also acquired,... by Toshiba, so far have not seen much change, still have to work a lot

Mark

Always nice to have another Texan here, Mike! And nice system! We have a Home Theater Equipment Forum where you might want to post an equipment list.

Regards,
Wayne

Re: New Member Checking In

Welcome,

B&W's are sometime referred to as having a bright sound but most people seem really satisfied with them. What kind of low end extension are you getting with your SW750?

Re: New Member Checking In

I use it very sparingly. just a touch any more and it's noticeble. I think your right about the B&Ws, they are a little bright. I added the sub after I got the 803s for that reason. I'm still working on the set up and configuration. I also think I have a difficult room. I have everything set up in our family room which is 18' X 20 and has a sloped ceiling 12' to 18'. One installer called it a gymnasium sound wise. So I need to spend some time on the accoustics as well.
