| What is there to say... Well, here I am, new member of the Home Theater Shack, and I decided to start participating. I'm a teacher living in the Great White North©, more specificaly in a small and remote inuit community of Arctic Quebec called Kangiqsualujjuaq. And in case you haven't noticed, I'm a french speaker so you'll have to be lenient with my english! I've been mostly interested in home theater and hifi audio for the last year. My goal is to acquire both a hifi system and a home theater for my family's enjoyment. I currently possess the following equipment: Sony 27" Wega TV Arcam CD72 CD player Toshiba SD3800 DVD player Denon 785 AV receiver Canton Movie MX10-II Speakers I'm looking to change/add the following in the next year: DIY Full Range Fostex Fe103 Spiral Speakers (in the making) Arcam/Rotel/Musical Fidelity Integrated Amplifier DIY Home Theater Speaker Set (I'm not too sure about what to make for this project...) Sony 50" SXRD Rear Projection TV I'm mostly active on a french Quebec a/v forum but I will make an appearance here too. Any Question? | |||

| Re: What is there to say... First of all, welcome to the shack! Your english is perfectly okay. It would be great to see some pictures of progress with your DIY speakers. What finish were you thinking? I too am working on a DIY project and haven't decided whether to paint or veneer. If you don't have a BFD for your sub, get one fast! If you don't have REW, get it now! | |||

To learn more about our little community, I invite you to visit our school's web site Ulluriaq School As for the speakers I'm making, I will post pics at a later time. The finish... I'm not too sure. I might simply paint them.

Making them unique/pretty is part of the process. Well, at least it was for me. Welcome and stick around. I look forward to seeing how your project progresses! JCD
