Buongiorno from Paris France

Good morning to the Home Theater Shack forum members!

I usually chat on AVforum, TagMclaren Audio section, and I've applied for your forum to get the last update of John REQ 4.0.
I've fall in love with HT after we got our first baby: since then it has been tough to go to watch a movie, so I decided to build our HT system. The decision is more valuable now we got our third...
That was back to 2000! The system is still under construction, the latest purchase has been done yesterday: a pair of Thiel CS2.4 and an MCS1... finally I will find someone who knows and uses these speakers because in UK it does not seem there are a lot of people using them. The next step will be to install everything properly before my wife throws everything from the window....
I'm based in Paris (France) but I prefer the English forums because they are more "get to the point" than the French one (and it is an Italian saying that....).

I hope to find here the same "spirit" than I've found on AVforum and even better!

Regards, Lenny

Welcome Lenny, I, too, was on that other forum, but, I am happy to be here now. Sounds like you have a great HT system. There is a lot of collective knowledge in this forum, so, let us help if we can. I have heard good things about your speakers, but, haven't heard them. Thanks, for posting. Dennis

Hello Lenny and welcome to the Shack!

We definitely don't want the wife tossing everything from the window... so please get busy!

Welcome.

I think you'll enjoy the knowledge and culture here.
The conversation here is usually free of the petty junk that spoils other forums.

We are the Shack. Existence as you know it is over.
We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own.
You will be mapped. Resistance is futile.

Re: Buongiorno from Paris France

Is it ok if I am a bit Jealous of your Thiels?

I had a pair of CS 1.2's in College - I worked a 3rd job for the summer just to save the $1100 they cost back then - that was the best pair of speakers I have ever owned. I traded them in for a pair of CS2's which weren't nearly as good (but went lower).
Unfortunately, they have gone up in price ever since, and I can no longer afford them.

But I commend you, Thiels have always been absolutely great speakers - perfect construction - cabinets built by artists - and imaging and soundstage like no other...

- Jack

Re: Buongiorno from Paris France

Hi Jack,

please do not be jalous: it took me four years of savings to buy them second hand... it is a continous daily work to build the best system with the less money you can afford.
Second thing: I need to listed to the system in MY house.... I hope the resul are going to be close enough to the listening sessions I have done. So I continue to keep my fingers crossed.
Finally: I need to make the REQ 4.0 to read my manual readings in order to have a change to mate them in the lower frequencies.

To all of you thank for the warm welcoming! Regards, Lenny
