Thank You Note !!!

I just want to thank you for all information posted in this forum .... I been a member since 10/06 but I never posted any coments until now, I been all comments and looking for information to build my HT. is almost 100% complete.

I will post some pictures later (after I comply with the rules).

Here is some information about my room: 9W x 18L x 8H (smaller than most), I have two rows of three seats each (back row is in a raiser and distance from wall to seat is about one foot); I used accoustic carpet from floor to rail chair and four accoustical panels on side walls, viewing distance is 9 ft (1st row) and 16ft (2nd row).

My equipment is acceptable, I do not have any of the brands that many of the members talk about (Onkyo, Paradigm, etc., that it seems to be better and expensive), what I have is this:

Samsung DLP 67" (Got it in 12/06 as a gift to myself)
Sony DVD DVP NS75H (Got it 12/06)
Audiovox DVR (don't remember model)
Sony VCR (I owe you the model, I still have some movies)
Receiver Sony STR DE885 (7-1, sound good to me)
Infinity TSS 750 (5 satellite speakers and subwoofer)
Two KLH satellite speakers (used for back surround)
One KLH subwoofer (small, but it shake the room)
HDTV satellite receiver.

I enjoy the movies when I can, the sound is okay (I think it can be better after doing adjustments with REW, etc. but I think it will take me more knowledge, time, etc. so that's for the future) I also need some adjustment to the TV (I got the DVE video, but it didn't help me a lot, maybe because to do the adjustments I need to get inside the TV, so I'm planning to pay for a professional calibration in the future, I been calling around and they charge $300 - $500 for the TV only).

Thank You again, for posting your experiences because is where I got all ideas, do's and don'ts to build my HT

Thank you for your response and suggestion .... that's one of the things I have to keep in mind to make my HT sound and look better.

Originally I was planning to add an Audiosource EQ200 (I bought one), but after reading the manual I realized that I always have to set my receiver in Tape mode for the EQ to process the signal ... so I didn't use it. I will look further into this option ... hopefully I wont be will all the things I have to adjust to have a nice HT.

Hi salvasol and welcome to the Shack..

The Sony DVD DVP NS76H (similar to the 75H) is a player I've been considering to upgrade to from my outdated Toshiba..
I would be very interested to hear your comments on that player..

I thought I typed the wrong model .... What I have is the DVP NS75H (maybe we have the same); I went to Sony's website and didn't find a 75H; there is a NS76H listed in their products, but when I downloaded the manual it was in spanish; so I think that maybe they sell this model outside the USA because the specification said that uses 220-240 volts ... here we use either 120 or 240.

Maybe I'm mistaken ....

Yes, you are correct...The 76H is sold outside the US..I'm in Australia..
I believe that the 75H and 76H are virtually the same unit..

Thank you for the upgrade.

I have this photos (they're old, is when I started setting everything up) .... I will take more recent photos for suggestions, there is a couple of things I don't like that I want to change.

Yeah, I'm happy with them .... when I was planning my HT and reading this forum about all equipment the members use, I started looking around and one day I went to Costco and I saw them, I checked the internet for reviews, prices, etc... and when I was 100% sure it was a good deal I bought them .... bad thing is that they didn't have charcoal .... that was my favorite because it will blend better with the rest of the equipment.
Anyways, I'm looking for ideas to make them less noticeable when the lights are on , my option is to paint them .... or hopefully, somebody will and give me a better idea.
