| hello to all from australia hi my name is terry' from nsw australia. Just got broadband so new to everything, including forum protocols! However have lurked around for a little bit, enough to know to thank all resposible for the room eq wizard and analysis program. In addition to developing the program and making it available to all, they then spend their (presumably) precious time answering stupid questions from the likes of me!!!! Part saints I reckon. Not into home theatre at all, only stereo. Found this thru the room eq I think. Life's too short to watch movies! However, am interested in the processing threads a la behringer deq and dcx 2496 type stuff, and the aussie made deqx gear. What other type of equipment/manufacturers do this type of processing? (I realise this is not exact thread, but assume will be diverted as needs be), eg rane, tact etc etc. So many questions, so little time. For example, which one of the people in the picture are you Sonnie?? All jokes aside, well done everyone and I am looking forward to many more enjoyable and educational hours in this forum! Anyone from australia in the syd/nsw area into stereo ( high end ) call me if you like, always glad to meet new friends! Isn't that what they say about strangers?, they are only friends you haven't met yet? Whatever kind regards terry | |||

| | Re: hello to all from australia Hi Terry and welcome to the Shack! I know we have several from Australia on the board, but not sure exactly where they are from. I'm not real familiar with the various processin units, other than the BFD 1124p, and I ain't all that swift when it comes to it, but I believe several of our guys are well educated on many of the varieties available. If you want to start a thread in the Components section, you'll probably get more action. We do have a two-channel forum also... we need more action in it, so jump on in. Btw... I'm the ugly duckling in the pic... ![]() | |||

| Re: hello to all from australia Hi Terry, Yes there be others from the land of Oz. Sorry but I'm into both serious music listening and HT, however maybe share your interests in digital processing as have a Behringer 2496 and have some experiences with others. The 2496 is used mostly as an experimental/development tool. Fundamentally though, I remain rather more analog based (for now). Roger | |||

| Re: hello to all from australia gee Roger, I'm afraid with Behringer gear 2496 doesn't really describe which unit you have ha ha - there are so many 2496's in the products list!! You really must avail yourself of REW on this site, esp if as it seems you 'develop' speakers?? keep us informed terry | |||

| Re: hello to all from australia Hi Prof, as the cars go pretty fast I guess you could say I follow them ha ha. No, to be honest I have never even watched them on TV, much prefer the bike races. As you can imagine, the place can get a bit rowdy come race weekend, so in the main I do my best to stay out of town. However, being in Bathurst when the races are on has maybe turned out to have a silver lining, as a few of the blokes on the local audio forum are 'car nuts' and it is possible that some of them will avail themselves of my hospitality and congregate here for the next races, and we can have a lovely weekend together, and you are more than welcome to come as well Prof!! Will be a mixture of cars and audio. Thanks again for yet another welcome Sonnie, I must remember to come back in six months time and renew my Home Theatre Shack vows !! and get yet another welcome. Hi Norps, looking forward to when we next meet, you will have to get that V8 for the trip up to the races and then we will have a fine time. | |||

| | Re: hello to all from australia Terry, I used to be one of those nuts up on "The Hill" in my younger days, but these days happy to watch it on my 106" screen at home.. Thanks very much for the invite, and who knows, I might one day try and re-live my youth and capture again the excitement of being there.. ![]() | |||
