jtmjnow Introduction

Hi,

And thank you for the warm welcome to your site. I was born in Oakland and raised in Santa Clara CA and now reside in Albany Oregon.

I am very much interested in psycoacoustic environments especiall in regard to my listening space.

I have a MD6580n DLP and HP product. Also, Panasonic receiver SAHE200, Polk towers RT2000P's, Polk di/bi surrounds and a Panasonic rear and a Polk Center Speaker, a DISH HD DVR receiver, some HDMI cables and a Samsung up converting DVD player along with a RCA VCR.

My goal is to set up the best sounding listening environment at home.

Bands I have enjoyed are Pink Floyd, Simon and Garfunkle, Cream with Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker, Procol Harem, Blind Faith, Led Lepplin, Sinatra, Santana, Baroque Classical

Hi Dennis,
No, I have my set up in my living room and the TV acts as a room divider between the living room and dining room. How about your set up? Is it fully dedicated to your sound system?

Re: jtmjnow Introduction

Yes, I have a dedicated HT room. I tried to put up a pic, but, I need to learn how to do that here! My room is 11 X 15 with a vaulted ceiling. I use room treatments (homemade). When I figure out how to post a pic, I will do so. My favorite piece of equipment is my SVS PC12-Plus/2 sub with the 12.3 drivers. There is something satisfying about feeling the low bass. the impact is just plain fun! Dennis

Re: jtmjnow Introduction

Hi Johnny Jack! I love to see other people have an eclectic taste in music too! We should start a thread over in the Music and DVD Concert section. The idea being to name ten artists we like that we think no one has heard of. With our collective eclectic tastes we could introduce people to some music they might never hear of otherwise. I'll go start the thread while you think up some name's I might not have heard of.

All you audio guys are making me itchy to build another set of speakers. The ones I built 20 some years ago are still going strong but what's that got to do with it, Eh! Building speakers was my first DIY love as a teen and I still get excited thinking about all those big magnets and tuning ports etc.
