Howdy

WOW!! This place is fun. . .Just found it today. . .Rather than lurk I thought I might want to jump right in if the feeling moves me.

I have had an HT system of one kind or the other since the 70s. Presently in an upgrade mode (changes). Been doing my research hence I found you all. . .

Looking forward to learning and contributing. . .

Re: Howdy

Actually started my love affair with audio in the 60s. . . Video was added in the 70s then Dolby Surround came along in the early 80s. . .

remember Miami Vice?? Got me started . . . In those days it was JBLs L-112/150/250/212 with B460 and B380 subs. . .I still have the L-112s and a B-380 at my daughters house. . .now they are hers. . .

Went through my ES period then Rotel, Adcom, Acurus, Anthem, Still got a Model 3 Fort'e heavily modified for around 400wpc.

I know its kinda disjointed right now. . .As time goes by it will start making sense. . .

A picture of my little Hot Rod. . .and a few old soldiers. . . great fun. . .

That Sony ES (TA-E77ESD)preamp is still a giant killer.

Those old Pioneer CS-99As are my fronts and the 701As (darker) are rears. . . I'm using 2 Polk Monitor 4 for center which will change soon. . .I like those big effecient(99-100dB) old speakers they add energy for HT. . .Not my favorite for critical listening but they sound great once you take the low bass off of them.

I like my vintage stereo gear and of course my big system for HT etc. . .

Right now it is in a state of flux. . .For the next week or so until I get everything I'm after and get it in place. . .Pretty meager right this minute. I'm using a baby Yamaha 5940 for the time being until my new receiver and sub get here. . .Of course the sub starts with "SVS". . my 5th. . .

Thanks wig. . .

There is a wealth of information here alright but which forum is busiest??

I like "SVsound" but haven't ventured very far away from subs yet. It was the sub reviews that brought me here. . .

I love HT and vintage audio. My HT system is all vintage speakers (ezxcept for the sub) and the electronics are modern.

Guess I'll get busy and start reading . . .See what I find.
